Edit Your Race/Packet Pickup Location
RunSignup creates a GoogleMap for your race based on your race location. This map is placed on your race info page as well as included in the confirmation email which goes to your runners.
If you go to your race info page then you go to the directions section and review your map.
If you find that the location of the map is not exactly correct, then you can get the exact longitude and latitude for your location and enter that information in the race dashboard.
To easily jump to this feature’s dashboard setup page, simply begin typing “Location” in the search-bar of the Dashboard. After you have typed in at least three letters, search results will begin to show below the box.
Select Location from those listed below, and you will be brought directly to the location setup page.
You can also manually find this feature by going to the Race tab, clicking on Race Website, and then clicking Race Location.
This is where you can enter in the exact coordinates for latitude and longitude for your race.
You an also enter a custom location description. This will show under the "Place" heading and above the map. This can be useful if you are hosting a virtual run and won't have a race location for example.
If you would like to remove the map from the race info page, then you would want to uncheck the box to show directions to the race on the race page box.
You also have the option to hide the entire Place section on your race page completely. This can also be useful if you are hosting a virtual event.
Don't forget to check that your map is correct by viewing your race website. This can be done from the race dashboard by clicking "view website".
RunSignup also allows you to enter in packet pickup information on this page as well.
This includes the packet pickup location, packet pickup date and time, race day packet pickup time, and the custom packet pickup description.
The Custom Packet Pickup Description can be used to provide extra information about what participants need to bring to packet pickup. This can be useful if you are requiring a form of ID or a printed confirmation at pickup for example. This can also be used instead of the fields above if you have multiple packet pickup locations and times that you would like to let your runners know about.
Important Note: All of the fields concerning packet pickup are meant for use with RunSignup's email marketing feature. If you would like to display this packet information on your race website as well, you would want to check this box:
On the race dashboard if you go to email marketing and click send emails, you can then open the replacement tag section. You can copy and paste any or all of these replacement tags into your email to send out this information to participants:
When the email is sent out, the replacement tags will be replaced by the corresponding packet pickup information.
Don't forget to click "Save Settings" to save your work.
